It lasted 30 minutes... Not bad, I guess?? Most likely the gas pump that failed.

A shame! :(
Was it a regularly driven car before?

Not for a while no... It was sort of expected lol

The looks of a 1984 US Spec Sentra (albeit with nice seats) with the reliability of a late malaise Maserati, what more could one want?

I got to drive, and had the opportunity to buy, a Bi-turbo that had been converted to a Bosch fuel injection system. It was pretty glorious, and not buying it was probably one of the best decisions that some irrational part of me still wishes I had not made.

And 280+HP ;)

Only $220 for the fuel pump. Hope your friend knows how to wrench, as I’d be frightened to know what labor would cost.

He restores cars for a living and changing the fuel pump is so easy, a 10 year old could do it :)

I almost changed my fuel pump on my own in my truck a year ago, but then I let my mechanic do it for me. He then caught the truck on fire, completely incinerating everything under the hood (except the block).
That’s why I drive a CTS now.

Oooh, there is a biturbo somewhat local to me with a... failed fuel pump. Also has rust issues, but I still want to check it out kind of.

Why am I not shocked by this

Haha, that’s no luck indeed lol

Someone got a Biturbo and I wasn’t notified?!
Tell me all!
Looks like an earlier generation of car (not a 222 or 2.24v). Is it a 4-door, 2.5l carb? 2.8l injected?
I’d check the fuel filter before definitely diagnosing it as fuel pump. If it’s been sitting for a while then it could have been blocked with rust from the tank. Oh, and check the wiring to the pump too. Ours was messed with by the PO (probably in an attempt to fix the pump when it should have been the filter).
If it’s a 4-door 2.8 then my dad has one in the exact same colour. Recently got it on the road too :)
Oh, if you know a source for shocks we’d be very appreciative!

It’s a regular non-24v 430. Automatic unfortunately... And it’s definitely the fuel pump or at least a ground problem... We can’t hear it turn itself on anymore.

How many horses have escaped? Only valid when it’s running :)

Yeah that could be a clone of my dad’s car :)
I’d definitely check the grounds. The wiring on these wasn’t exactly top-notch when brand new (nor was the rustproofing)...
Let us know how it goes :)

The car is 100% rust free as it slept in a garage all its life, but yeah we’ll check for the grounds later on, just in case...
